MBBR Technology and Biofilm Carries
MBBR technology is based on the biofilm principle with an active
biofilm growing on small specially designed plastic carriers that
are kept suspended in the reactor. The technology utilizes the
advantages of both activated sludge and other biofilm systems (e.g.
biofilters, biorotors etc.) without being restrained by their
disadvantages.
The carriers are designed to provide a large protected surface area
for the biofilm and optimal conditions for the bacteria culture
when the carriers are suspended in water.

Advantages:

Without support, put filter media in the pool directly, and it can
save the return sludge, avoiding sludge bulking, come-up and loss,
convenient to operate and maintain.
5. Long service life
Through a special process modification, the filter media have a
good resistance, UV resistance, strong toughness, not easy to aging
and embrittlement, and it has a long service life.
Question:
Why did others hang the film faster after adding sucrose, is the
pure HDPE material already eliminated?
Answer: No, it is not. With the addition of sucrose and other
additives, it is true that the film will be fast, but after a long
time, the loss of sucrose will cause the early attached
microorganisms to fall off. It will also cause the quality of MBBR
carriers to decline, the structure to be unstable, more easily
broken, and increased costs. MBBR made of pure HDPE material will
last for more than 15 years.
